~Rooms~ There isn't much to say that is impressive about the room. It saves us money on food as well as provides a place for everyone to get together at the end of the long day. It is a pricier way to go, but we find it worth it since we eat in the room. We stayed in one of the many condos that are available at the GWL (it is the only way we stay any more when we go). There were 10 of us, 6 adults and 4 kids (ages 1 month, 5, 6, & 9). My family stayed at the GWL from July 3rd - 5th this year. This is the 4th year in a row that we have stayed at this hotel and we will keep going back whenever we go to the Dells! All the employees and lifeguards are very friendly. The loose moose bar and grill is a good place to eat, and the camp critter buffet is good for breakfast, but a bit pricey. There is an arcade and wiley's woods play area. We stayed the the family suite for $199.00 a night, which is not bad for everything that you get. The rooms were nice sized and very clean. My son's favorite part ( age 7) was the wave pool, racing matt slides, and the howling tornado. The waterpark is great for kids and even adults. I was worried that it would be alot more crowed, but this place is so big that you did not even notice. This hotel is an awesome place to stay! Be sure to book in advance on their website if you can, you can get some great deals! Their slowest months are May and September and you can get some of the best rates then, We always previously stayed in June, but this year had to go in July. We would have a hard time staying somewhere else when we return. There were other activities at the hotel, but we didn't have time to do any of them. It would of been nice to be outside more because the inside is not real comfortable for relaxing and watching the kids. It had a full bar, so I could relax and have a drink and lifeguards everywhere so i felt comfortable closing my eyes and getting a little sun. The one day we did get to spend out there was great. We didn't get to enjoy the outdoor area much, because of weather. We were there during the week, so we had no real lines or difficulty finding a place to put our stuff. Lots of lifeguards that seemed very attentive. The waterpark was geared more towards young kids than teenagers or adults, since there weren't very big rides, but my 7 year old loved it and would still be there if it was up to him. After a few days I realized why it would be hard to avoid when the kids & I kept coming back to the room with wet towels and swimsuits. The room had a little musty smell, but not enough to bother my family. Great Wolf Lodge is the indoor water park resort perfect for your next family getaway!
